Objectives
The project is designed to enhance awareness of Chinese program core partners in the application and mainstreaming of SPG issues in their area of responsibility and to strengthen capacities in applying SPG to policy formulation and implementation. It also aims to operationalise the ACEDP Social Impact Management, Public Participation & Gender Mainstreaming Framework (SPGF) for consistent application across ACEDP activities.
Key Activities / Components
Phase I – Inception Stage: Mobilisation of the consultant team and planning of how the study will unfold and the project be implemented. It will conclude in an Inception Report
Phase II – Interim Stage: This will mainly involve undertaking an Australian study tour, workshops on promoting Environmental sound behaviour, work attachments in Australia and training courses at local levels. Outcomes will be documented and circulated
Phase III – Final Stage: This will focus on delivery of a final report with lessons leaned and a forward strategy for Chinese partner agencies.
Contribution to ACEDP Program Outcomes
The project will have a major impact on influencing Chinese policies through consideration and adaptation of ‘social’ issues in policy formulation and implementation.
Highlights
As an important outcome from the GPS project, the GPS manual has caught strong interests of Chinese core partners NDRC, MWR, MEP, SFA and other agencies like ACWF and UN Women. In response to these needs, ACEDP decided to make a formal publication of the manual available to these agencies so as to secure its long-lasting impact beyond the program life. Currently, PCO is seeking to engage a qualified service provider to make the manual layout design and contents adaptation etc. The final designed version will be made available by end of 2011 or early 2012.
