ACEDP was invited to attend the first launch ceremony of China Wetland Encyclopedia in Beijing on 16 January 2009 to celebrate the World Wetland Day 2009. China Wetland Encyclopedia is the first modern encyclopedia about wetlands in China which has 5000 articles covering seven braches of wetland knowledge, from wetland conservation to the wetlands of each different provice and wetland ecology.

The Encyclopedia was joint efforts of Chinese Academy of Science, State Forestry Administration, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Land and Resources, Ministry of Agriculture,State Oceanic Administration, the departments of forestry, envioronmental protection, oceanography and agriculture of provinces and municipalities, Wetland International China along with Chinese institutions and universities. It is a fundamental cultural development of wetlands science and will have long-term historical significance for understanding wetlands and forming the sound concept of wetlands conservation.
