In 2007, AusAID engaged WWF China undertaking a desk study “IRBM Roadmap” to define the situation regarding integrated river basin management (IRBM) as a potential approach to water resource management. The IRBM Roadmap provides comprehensive information about key IRBM players; illustrates current water governance arrangements in China, including its legislative, administrative and financial structures and mechanisms, and the donor communities to cooperate on; develop suggestions on how to proceed with IRBM in China.
